"Brandon has done some unbelievable things as a meet timer and has shown an outstanding work ethic. When he was finished with his work, he was spending his effort raking long jump pits, moving hurdles, and moving starting blocks even though he knew he was never accountable for doing any extra work."

BIOGRAPHIC SUMMARY

Eagle Eye Timing is currently managed under the direction of Brandon Daniels. In the summer of 2000, he was first introduced to athletic event management working as a volunteer scoreboard official and computer aid. Daniels quickly grasped the concept of both meet administration and photo finish operating. He has quickly gained a reputation as a tireless worker who is an expert at troubleshooting a variety of technical issues related to timing both track & field and cross country meets. He has timed a variety of meets ranging from the local level to the international level, and he also works part-time for Ticker Timing, a group based in Hays, Kansas.
While at Lee's Summit North high school in Lee's Summit, MO, Daniels competed in cross country and track & field. After an inspirational freshman track season, he was shocked to realize that there were no primary resources for meet results or meet coverage in Missouri. Given that, Daniels co-developed and published Missouri's first online resource to track & field and cross country which he named Missouri Runner's Nation. Along with the help of co-developer Aaron Gundel, Missouri Runner's Nation was successful in delivering meet results, meet reports, meet photography, and a variety of other coverage techniques. Daniels's underlying passion and motivation to honor the athletic spirit through recognition continued for four years. In most cases, he found himself covering meets that he competed in himself.
Along with volunteering as a senior correspondent for Missouri Runner's Nation, he also served as an official correspondent for John Dye's Dyestat.com. By his senior year, he accepted responsibility as team captain of both the cross country and the track & field team. He also remained intensely dedicated to his studies as he partook in a curriculum of five International Baccalaureate (I.B.) college level courses. In addition to those responsibilities, Daniels worked a part-time job as a server's aid where he claims to have learned many important customer service values. Comically, it is still unknown whether or not he has caught up on his sleep yet.
In 2002, Daniels graduated from high school with honors and set out to continue his education in computer science. Despite a successful 18 months of specializing in software engineering & multimedia development and maintaining a 3.9 grade-point average in college, Daniels decided to reassess and postpone his collegiate aspirations.
Daniels currently spends time managing an array of responsibilities through many tours of duty. He serves as an administrator and web design consultant for both the AAU Region VIII and AAU Missouri Valley organizations. This past fall, he was honored as the 2004 AAU Missouri Valley Volunteer of the Year, and was also honored as the Amateur Athletic Union's (AAU) youngest volunteer.
